Oral temperature is taken when the thermometer is placed in the oral cavity (mouth, under the tongue) and Axilla temperature is taken by placing the thermometer at the underarm (armpits) of the person.
Purpose of this study- To see if there is any relationship in the readings of oral & axilla temperature.
The importance of the study will determine the accuracy of two different methods of taking body temperature. Difference in readings could affect the interventions given to the patient. Therefore, a more accurate reading would be perferred. We would like to find out how much do the two readings defer by and by doing so, calculations could be made by healthcare workers and measuring body temperature of patients who are contraindicated (oral trauma/injuries) would be accurate too.
